We are here!

Well, after months and months of planning and preparing we are finally in Arusha!

It only took us 48 hours to get here...Let us tell you the play-by-play...

  • Tuesday, 8/19
    • 4:45 a.m. - Met at CA's parking lot and took two Super Shuttles with 21 luggage pieces and 14 carry on bags
    • 8:50 a.m. - departed LAX for Chicago
    • 2:50 p.m. - arrived in Chicago with very little layover time
    • 4 p.m. - departed Chicago for London
  • Wednesday, 8/20
    • 6:00 a.m. Arrived to London...overcast and misty
    • 8:00 a.m. On our way to THE CITY! We enjoyed being all over London for our long layover
    • 5:00 p.m. Got back on the Tube and returned to the airport
    • 8:00 p.m. Boarded Kenya Airways plane for our 8 hour flight to Nairobi
  • Thursday, 8/21
    • 6:30 a.m. Arrived in Nairobi, safe and sound!
    • 8:00 a.m. After standing in line for close to an hour to go through immigrations at the airport, we finally made it out!
    • 8:45 a.m. Loaded all of our massive amounts of luggage and stuff onto a shuttle we had contracted and got on the road for a 5 hour drive to Arusha
    • 2:30 p.m. Arrived in Arusha!
Well, that is the breakdown. I am sure that the team will have personal stories to tell but this trip beats all of my other trips around the world as the most extensive and taxing trips ever. The goldmine is that we get to be with Peter and Tammy so it is SO WORTH IT!

The team is doing well...a little stinky (no showers for 48 hours) but we are all fine. I am sure that we will all sleep VERY WELL tonight.

Thanks for your love and prayers!

Jaime and the team
